Performance

As the slightly bigger model, the Santa Fe is equipped with a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine that generates 191 horsepower and 181 lb.-ft. of torque. Upgrading to a turbocharged powertrain can yield up to 281 horsepower and 311 lb.-ft. of torque.

The Tucson comes standard with a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine that's good for 187 horsepower and 178 lb.-ft. of torque. That gives the Tucson similar power to the base Santa Fe, but with a smaller frame you can expect to be more agile.

Fuel Economy

Both the Santa Fe (25/28 mpg) and the Tucson (26/33 mpg) display similar gas mileage during city and highway driving respectively.
